Embedding video clips

Embedding videos in Moodle pages and HTML blocks can be done in two ways. The first way I will outline is easier than the second, but you can't customize the way the video appears on the page when you use it.

Easy Method

Find the clip that you want to embed and then just copy and paste the video's URL into the Moodle page. It will look like this in the page editor

But it will look like this when you view the page

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-HVCVhhwYw

Note that the video is sitting in the middle of the page. You can't change this using the easy method. Nor can you change the size of the video.

Other Method

Go to the video that you want to embed and look for the 'Embed' tab beneath the video. 'Share this video' will be selected, so click 'Embed'

Under 'Embed' you can customize the size of the video or select one of the presets. Select the HTML code in the box (<iframe..></iframe>) and copy it

Go to the Moodle page or HTML box that you want to embed the video in and select 'HTML' from the ribbon at the top of the editing box

The HTML Source Editor will appear. Paste the video embed code where you want it on the page and then click 'Update'

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click 'Save and return to page'. The video will appear aligned to the left of the page, at the size that you specified.
